On Wednesday 12th May 2004, the BBC's Blue Peter crew broadcast a live show from Castle Cornet on Guernsey's east coast. The Broadcast featured clips made earlier in the week of Sand Racing at Vazon Bay, the firing of the noon day cannon at Castle Cornet and the Guernsey Life Boat.
During the live transmission, which featured the British Championship winning Guernsey Majorettes, the crew made a kite, which didn't want to fly is such gorgeous weather, and presented a well researched piece on the Occupation and Liberation of Guernsey, featuring film of many of the German Fortifications around the Island and an interview with local Author Molly Bihet who was in the Island as a child during the occupation.
