In a glorious week at the start of September 2004 the Garden Invaders, led by gardening super star Charlie Dimmock invaded Guernsey to film three programmes in the space of three days.
With two of the gardens on the coast and a third commanding stunning views across the West Coast of the Island these three programmes are guaranteed to stun anyone who has yet to visit the Channel Island of Guernsey.
Using local support and local suppliers the Invaders transformed three very different gardens in an
intense piece of production governed by the shortening days. But with excellent, unbroken sunlight,
the filming went to plan and the crew were extremely pleased with the shoot
The Guernsey Film Commission paved the way, helping to select the gardens using local PR company CMA PR to do a lot of the groundwork and then in the run up to the shoot and during the event itself was on hand to help source materials and solve any problems that occurred.
During one of the days part of a road was closed to enable the crew to film without worrying about traffic
noise.
The finished programmes are due for broadcast in January 2005.
