The BBC was in Guernsey during April 2002 to film local teenager Tom Miller as part of a series called Friends International 2002. The series was produced to celebrate the Commonwealth Games.
Tom and his friend Adam Taylor, who lives in the UK, were chosen after entering a competition. Over 100 teenagers from all over the world, including Africa and the Caribbean, were selected to represent their commonwealth countries in the series. Tom was the only person selected from the Channel Islands.
Tom was featured taking photographs at locations around Guernsey, such as Bluebell Wood and Fort Grey, as well as playing football and taking a golf lesson. The series was shown on the CBBC digital channel in July 2002.
